The bright California sunlight, vibrant coastal colors, and constant energy of Santa Monica and Los Angeles inspire paintings filled with movement and life.
Layers of vivid yellows, oranges, blues, and pinks create a sense of motion that reflects the bustling beaches, endless activity, and carefree spirit of the coast. These works evoke the feeling of being swept into a colorful vortex of sunshine, excitement, and possibility.

These paintings were inspired by memories of my years living in Marina del Rey after moving west from Atlanta and before settling in Northern California.

The series has taken on new meaning in recent years as life has brought me back to the Los Angeles area to visit my grown sons. Both have followed creative paths of their own—one in animation and the other in film production and writing—and it has been a joy to experience the city again through their eyes.
These paintings represent a small sample of work created over many years and are presented as examples of my creative process and artistic development. Each of these paintings has found a home in a private collection. I’m always happy to share additional details about the inspiration behind a painting.
