Inspirations
I am an expressionist artist specializing in vibrant, colorful abstracts painted with bold brushstrokes, that are inspired by places I have been. I will paint over the first layers of my paintings and continue painting over additional layers to create thick paintings with a depth that mirrors the deep layers in my memory.
The colorful memories that inspire my paintings include times spent in special locations like Point Lobos State Park in Carmel, the West Shore of Tahoe, and many beautiful places in the bay area. Thinking about one of these experiences as I paint, I find the colors and shapes coming through in the painting, giving each one its own unique feeling and ambiance that hopefully evokes a positive comtemplative response from the viewer.
